About Us

Knitwit The Label

Our Story

Knitwit was created in 2022, making us a very new brand.

I created Knitwit, with a few key goals in mind.

These include inclusivity, model diversity and ethical production.

I also wanted to help my mum bring her dream of sewing and production to life, and help her to quit her 9-5 office job. She now is able to work from home, creating your garments which she absolutely loves.

Our pieces are handmade to order in Australia and Bali, with love and care, by my Mum and a small group of seamstresses.

As this brand grows, I have been able to expand our sizes and hire more diverse models, as well as invest in organic and recycled materials.

I am so exited to see where Knitwit goes in the future, and every order helps us to shape our future in a positive way!

Diversity and Sizing

We believe fashion is for everyone. No matter your ethnicity, gender or size.

This is why we actively do our best with the budget we have, to hire inclusive models, so that all of our customers can feel represented and can see how their body type would look in our pieces.

We currently cater from size XS to a 4XL and are planning to expand with demand. We are also happy to take measurements to make our pieces custom to your size, if you are unsure which size you are.

Sustainability

At Knitwit the Label, one of our absolute main goals is conduct our business is the most sustainable way possible and promote the importance of sustainable fashion and buying from a small business.

Read below to learn more about our efforts towards sustainability.

What we're doing for the planet

100% compostable or reusable packaging

We use 100% compostable/recyclable packaging from Heropackage, and wrap all of your orders in compostable tissue paper!

We also use compostable cardboard boxes for our bigger orders :)

This means no single use garment bags and no thick plastic parcels!

And it's a big win when it comes to helping the earth!

Organic, Recycled and deadstock materials

We endeavour to make most of our products from either organic, recycled or deadstock fabric.

We also buy in very limited quantities and work in a low waste manner.

This is both good for you and the planet!

This also plays a big part in decreasing nasty emissions and creating clothing that can break down more easily when no longer wanted, as the plastics and microfibres found in cheaply-made clothing can take 100s of years to break down.

Handmade in Australia

Our pieces are handmade by a small team of seamstresses in Australia and Bali.

This means all of your items are being made ethically by seamstresses who have access to a safe environment and fair wages.

This is also a good thing for the planet as it means we aren't transporting large quantities of clothing around the planet, which would be causing harmful emissions.

Small made-to-order quantities = minimal waste

All of our garments are made on a made to order basis in small quantities.

We also cut out all of our patterns manually, and make sure to optimise the life of our fabric and minimise waste, by cutting right to the edge of our fabric.
